There is nothing going on this weekend so.......Unofficial Glider flying day at Hodges Sat. June 21!!!! Chris and Mel said the Cessna "SHOULD" be ready too.  I'm bringing the GL and the Gambler.....well I'm bringing any plane that strikes my fancy.  Bring whatever, just include a glider if ya got it. We'll play Pass the Radio with the GL if y'all will be "gentle" with her!!!! She is OLD!!!!!

If you got a glider bring it and fly it!  If you are skeeeerd to fly it, bring it and we'll show ya how!  Anybody that wants can come. This is not a fly-in! I just want to see how many glider folks we have that would be interested in one!

Make a post if you are interested in a ALL Glider Fly-In!

We hounds need to talk and see if we can get an "official" glider fly-in going every year here!!  Seems like we all have one and it should be fun to have ALL glider types at the field for a weekend!

Actually, let's do it weekend after next- 6-28. I talked to Mac and he said he will send out an email. He is going to put together a DLG in the meantime, and I ordered a glider today also.

Hey cool Fine with me!  I was planning on putting that Fling at the shop together for Mac Saturday, unless he has another in mind. Probably won't fly in the contest. There is a pretty good chance I'll have to work til lunch time.
  What kind you getting Bill?

That will actually work well for me as well. Sharon and I will be out of town for the 4th and I've got things to do around the homestead this weekend. I'll bring out the 2-T and the Gentle Lady. I need to get a couple more receivers so I don't have to swap them  between planes if I want to bring more than two planes at a time.  While I'm out there I need to pick up a few parts so I can have what I need on hand for the next couple of builds.

I primarily fly an electric Oly III and Paragon.  I assume they would be welcome.    Will there be a winch or hi-start?   I have some old 2m planes I could fix up and fly.

There shouldn't be any problem with them. It's just a different way to launch is all.  I also believe (and hope) there's a high-start available for use.  Just no parachutes allowed on it according to Bill.

If you're going to show up I'll bring the Paragon even though it's not quite finished.  Those last little details are hard to get finished up when you're working 12 hour days.    I've been wanting to compare the electric setups between our Paragons for a long time and this would be a great chance to do that.  Maybe when the other guys see the Paragon fly they're going to want to get their own.  It is a very impressive plane and it just thermals soooo well!

Hey! This may turn out to be a pretty good event!  Bill, if it goes well we might have to make an annual event. Well, I've never seen an event that didn't go well out here!   "Hodges Hobbies Annual Glider Days"

The more the better!  I'd like to see someone bring a winch. Always wondered how those are set up and run.

I wish I could be there.  I have an old 100" glider that I haven't flown in years.  All I have now is a standard Hi-Start and I would need that Heavy Duty one for the 100" plane.  Back many years ago I used to have a winch but it disappeared sometime in one of my moves.  Maybe I can fit that big glider in the truck for next weekend and borrow that heavy duty hi-start then.

Kenny and I will be there in 15 hours. See you all soon.

I have a Fry MkII and a Siren I will be bringing. I believe Dave is coming with his electric glider.

If only Jeff would come.
